Waders for fishing and wet outdoor work

Waders provide waterproof coverage when you need to step into shallow water rather than simply stay out of the rain. They are useful for fishing, pond maintenance and outdoor tasks where ordinary waterproof trousers do not offer enough protection. Explore options from OCEAN and ELKA Rainwear, and check each product description for its intended use, construction and coverage. Unlike other rainwear, waders are designed to protect the lower body during contact with water, provided you stay below the garment's opening.

Choose the right coverage and fit

Choose waders according to the water depth and movement your task involves. Check whether the design provides thigh-height or chest-height coverage, and leave a safe margin between the waterline and the top opening. Allow room for your usual layers without choosing a fit so loose that it restricts movement. Where boots are integrated, check the footwear sizing as well as the garment measurements. Review the sole design for the surface underfoot: mud, gravel and slippery banks present different challenges. For tasks on dry ground in heavy rain, rain coveralls may be more appropriate than clothing intended for wading.

Match your protection to the conditions

Waders do not replace upper-body rain protection, so consider a compatible jacket or one of our rain smocks when working in rainfall. If you only need protection against rain and splashes without entering water, compare rain trousers or rain trouser leggings instead. After use, remove mud and debris, follow the care label and let the garment dry before storing it. Inspect seams, boot connections and the material for damage before your next outing. Waders are not flotation equipment; avoid strong currents and unfamiliar water depths.

Waders provide waterproof lower-body coverage for activities such as fishing, pond maintenance and work in shallow water. The appropriate design depends on the water depth, conditions and task. Always keep the waterline safely below the garment's opening.
Choose waders using the product's size guide, allowing room for the layers you expect to wear. Check both body measurements and footwear sizing if boots are integrated. The fit should let you bend and step comfortably without excessive loose material.
Waders are designed for entering water within the limits of their coverage and intended use. Rain trousers mainly protect against rainfall and splashes, and their openings around the ankles do not normally prevent water entering when submerged.
Clean waders according to the care label, remove mud after use and allow them to dry before storage. Check the material, seams and any boot connections for wear or leaks. Avoid cleaning products or drying methods that the manufacturer does not recommend.
